SENIOR / LEAD MECHANICAL ENGINEER

For our international client, REEL GmbH, we are exclusively looking for a SENIOR / LEAD MECHANICAL ENGINEER for its Aluminium business line, based in Hoofddorp (5 minutes from Schiphol Airport)

To support the engineering team, we are looking for a Lead Mechanical Engineer.

In this position you will lead mechanical engineering projects for Special Cranes that are used in the aluminium industry. This position compromises the role of mechanical engineering (± 75%) and coordination of mechanical engineering projects (± 25%).

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Derive the scope and nature of the engineering work from the project specifications
• Design drawings of complete installations
• Deliver complete engineering packages to instruct manufacturing, assembly and purchasing
• Able to coordinate a small mechanical engineering team (2-5 people)
• Monitor mechanical engineering progress
• Check drawings, calculations, parts lists and specifications
• Project administration
• Maintain contacts with suppliers and relevant departments such as purchasing and production

Requirements

• (at least) BSc in mechanical engineering
• Senior experience in mechanical engineering of cranes and/or heavy constructions

• Creative, problem-solver, team-player
• Good knowledge of Inventor (or similar) and MS Office
• Proficient in English (preferably also in Dutch), both oral and written
• Willingness to travel worldwide, incidentally
